I'm gonna share a little stories behind this Camy Sputnik.
Here it goes.....
# On the 4th of October 1957 Russia launched SPUTNIK 1 from the Tyuratam range No 5 in Kazakh now Baikonur Cosmodrome.
SPUTNIK 1 travelled at 18,000 miles per hour and made 1400 orbits of the earth transmitting on 25.005 and 40.002 MHz which was monitored by radio hams all over the world.

This launch took America by surprise and
triggered a new part of the cold war which became known as the Space
Race.
To Commemorate this monumental event Swiss watch company CAMY made a SPUTNIK watch. SPUTNIK 4.X.1957 (to commemorate the launch date 4th October 1957)
On the case back is once again engraved with the date and name SPUTNIK 4.X.1957.
